Rennee Dehesa is a founding partner at the law firm of Becker & Dehesa, L.L.P. and focuses her practice in the areas of estate planning, business succession planning, probate and trust administration, incapacity planning and guardianships of the estate.

Rennee’s experience in managing estates and representing business owners gives her the unique ability to integrate the professional and operational need of business owners with their estate planning and administration needs.

When a loved one passes, she is there to help family and loved ones manage their estate whether it be through a trust administration or a probate matter. Additionally, she represents clients in a variety of other probate matters including spousal petitions, small estate administrations, and guardianships of the estate. Her fluency in Spanish and her background in assisting families of Latin heritage allows her to incorporate cultural sensitivity and practicality to her services, while ensuring that her monolingual clients are comfortable throughout the planning and administration process.

Professional Experience

For over sixteen years, Rennee Dehesa has been providing legal representation to individuals, families, and business owners who seek to establish a legacy while protecting their estate and businesses through the establishment of living trusts, wills, and partnership agreements.

Rennee has previously worked in family law and bankruptcy which provides her with a unique perspective on insolvency and spousal rights issues that may arise in probate and trust matters. She has previously taught legal continuing education courses on various topics including estate planning, client management and cultural sensitivity and bias.

Rennee was recognized by the Southern California Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in 2022.

She is a recipient of the Pacific Coast Business Times Top 40 Under 40 and Top 50 Women in Business. In 2017, Ms. Dehesa was honored with the Ventura County Women Lawyers’ Holly Spevak Award for her work in introducing a legislative bill in California which would have created the legal framework for a Power of Attorney for the care of a minor child and for her volunteer work with undocumented families and their children.

Education & Training

Rennee earned her undergraduate degree from University of San Diego in 2004, receiving a dual major in Political Science and Spanish with a Minor in Business Administration. In 2006, just two years later, she earned her Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law. While attending university and law school she worked at a personal injury law firm, assisting the attorneys with case management, negotiation, trial preparation and discovery. She was on Dean’s List each year of law school and graduated with honors.

Rennee is a native of Ventura County having graduated from Saint Bonaventure High School and attended elementary and middle schools in Ventura County.

Community Involvement & Personal Interests

Rennee is an active member of the Ventura County Bar Association. Her involvement with the local legal community is extensive. She has previously been the President of the Mexican American Bar Association, the Ventura County Barristers, a board member of the Ventura County Bar Association and the 2021 Ventura County Women Lawyers’ President.

Rennee’s community involvement extends to other sectors including serving as a former board member of the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Camarillo Chamber’s Education Committee and committee member of the CSUCI Connection Committee through the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she has volunteered with Girls, Inc. a non-profit organization dedicated to providing programming and mentoring to young girls and boys who are incarcerated or determined to be at risk.

Today, she is a member of the California State University Channel Islands Planned Giving Advisory Council and is a volunteer attorney with Swap-Meet Justice, a non-profit focused on providing legal services and consultation to members of the public at the Oxnard College Swap Meet the last Sunday of the month.

Ms. Dehesa resides in Camarillo with her husband and her son, Oliver. She also has a fur child – a Labradoodle named Osten. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling and volunteering.
